Hiking adventure | Lofoten

Hike over mountain passes, along beaches and enjoy the breathtaking views of mountains dropping into the ocean.

This adventure will allow you to experience Lofoten’s beauty and roughness over multiple days. We will spend one night in a cabin and the rest of the nights in tents. Over the duration of 5 days you will immerse yourself in Lofoten’s nature and experience the islands in a unique way.

The goal of this adventure is also to learn new skills and maybe push out of your comfort zone. We will focus on navigation with compass and map, talk about the basics of wilderness first aid and ways to make your own camping food. Please note that hiking on Lofoten is not as easy as other places. The trails are a mix of trails, boulder fields, uneven terrain, muddy passages, sand and stones. Make sure you are reasonably fit to hike 15 km per day through uneven terrain and contatc us if you are unsure. This trip is planned to be beginner friendly.

Itinerary

Arrival day

We will meet at a given meeting point before 12.00, please make sure to accomodate for that in your planning. A quick check of everyone’s equipment and distribution of everyone’s food and some common equipment and we are off to our first day of hiking and camping. We will spend the first night camping outside close to the sea.

Hiking days

Every day will look a bit different and as we are in the Arctic, we are very dependent on the weather, which will impact our daily decision making and planning. Every day starts with breakfast and a conversation about the day ahead. We share how we feel and if we have any concerns about the day ahead. We will hike 6-8 hours every day until we find a beautiful campspot and set up camp. We share our learnings and observations of the day over dinner and settle down for a good night sleep.

Departure day

After our last breakfast together, where we will wrap up this week and reflect upon expectations and reality, we start hiking our last stretch back to civilsation. We will end the trip no later than 17.00, so onwards travel can be arranged.
